Due to an increase in projects, the engineering team required additional server rack capacity within their lab environment to deploy more test systems. Their existing racks were full, restricting further expansion.
The nature of the work being undertaken in the laboratory meant that any noise generated by the equipment housed in the cabinet had to be kept to a minimum. The challenge was to increase capacity without increasing noise.
The client engaged BetterBox to provide the expertise needed.
THE SOLUTION
BetterBox recommended an acoustic server cabinet that met the client’s requirements for rack capacity, cooling performance and noise reduction, while remaining practical for day-to-day engineering use.
We selected a 47U, 800mm wide × 1,000mm deep acoustic server rack that reduces noise levels by up to 95%. Four low-noise integrated fans provide sufficient cooling while maintaining the cabinet’s acoustic performance.
THE INSTALLATION
Due to its size and weight, the cabinet was delivered flat-packed and assembled on site by BetterBox engineers. The client reported that the on-site engineers arrived promptly and demonstrated a high level of professionalism and product knowledge throughout the building and installation of the cabinet.
